Eagles Looking To Regain Momentum As Tournament Time Approaches

It’s that time again! It’s been a while since the last blog, so I have three games to update you on. Since the last update we were able to break the longest win streak record which was previously set in 2002 at 5 games. This year we beat that by winning 6 in a row! Go Eagles!

When I left off we were getting set to play EMU on senior day. For the seniors, their numbers were painted along the sideline on the fans side and they were given goodie baskets, along with flowers for them and their parents. Congratulations seniors! EMU is our big rival, so for us there is no losing this game. Our only option is to win and that’s the way we played to send our seniors out right. We played our game which means if were on, its complete domination on our part. We passed well, played tough, and poured on the pressure to their back line. We came out with a 3-1 victory.

The next game on Saturday the 16th , we took a road trip to North Carolina to play Guilford College. It was our second night game of the season which is exciting. We had a little bit of trouble during this game often just kicking and running which is not the way we want or expect to play. Guilford was a good team and fought us hard but in the end the Eagles came out on top! We came together for a 2-0 victory and our sixth victory in a row.

The next game we hosted Virginia Wesleyan. This was also a rough game for us. We were able to keep the game tied 0-0 in the first half but in the second half we gave up two goals. We couldn’t get in to an offensive groove at all and mainly packed it in on defense. Our first half was definitely better, but we still gave everything we had.

Our next game is against Washington and Lee on Saturday the 23rd and hopefully we can regain our momentum back for the upcoming ODAC tournament. Thank you for all the support.
