Hey Eagles Fans! Hope everyone had a great weekend and a good start to the week. It’s time for yet another update on our season.This past weekend we traveled to Mary Washington to play two tough opponents. On Saturday we played Emory University and dropped a hard fought game 2-1. It was one of our better games that we have played this season and really showed that we are better than we have been previously playing. We really competed and stayed with the strong Emory team.
Saturday night we all came together to show off different skits. Coach separated us into groups and we each picked a song to act out to. There were funky outfits, costumes and fun times. It was good to get our minds off the loss and just relax and have fun. However, there is always a little competition to go along with it. The coaches picked a winner when all the groups had a chance to showcase their song.
On Sunday we played Mary Washington, the fourth ranked team that we have played this season. This was our best game to date. We played hard, went down a goal in the second half, came back, and eventually went into overtime after 90 minutes of play. After a scoreless first overtime, we went on to play another 10 minute overtime period. However in the end our opponents were able to find the net after some tough defense and great goal keeping. Unfortunately to our knowledge, the game was golden goal. We thought we still had another 5 minutes to play but for the referee it was over and time to hit the showers.
Overall, there has been great improvement in the way our team is playing. Keeping the encouragement up, the fitness high, eyes open to new opportunities, and finding the will from within is helping us on our way to earning that ODAC championship.
