The first week of preseason finally came to a close. For me, the week was long and grueling. The week consisted of many fitness tests including the demanding beep test, exhausting two mile run, and intense 14, 100-yard sprints. The three-a-days were not only hard on my body but it also had a huge effect on my morale. I felt so accomplished on finishing the first week of preseason, not once did I give up, even though there were many times where I could have. All the hard work this summer and this week is really proving to be rewarding.
But I have to say the best part of this whole week was on Sunday when the team and I went White Water Rafting. Coming from Virginia Beach, I am a city girl through and through so needless to say white water rafting was definitely an adventure for me.
The team learned from white water rafting what team work really was. Not only did we have to paddle together to make the raft go the direction we needed it to go, but also we were responsible for pulling our team mates back on the boat when they fell over, and trust me plenty people flew off the side. White water rafting was an intense adventure that showed the whole team that everything works better when we work together.
I have all the confidence in the world that our team will use that same team work that we used during white water rafting, on the field. With a week of preseason left, I am positive the hard work and unity will continue as we prepare for the excitement of our season and classes starting next week.
